Hello and thank you for purchasing our RS3 Pro control module

Starting guide for the RS3 Pro control module:

  1. What you should have in your RS3 Pro control module unit :

    • The RS3 Pro control module mounted

    • A bag of servo horns and screws

2. Installation of the The RS3 Pro control module :

Use the nato port on the right side of the RS3 Pro when facing the RS3 Pro screen, the side of the power button. In order to fix the module you need to place the module according to the RS3 Pro, place it accordingly on the foolproof piece of aluminium then secure it with the two M4x20mm countersunk screws and a 2.5mm allen screw driver. Always keep the RS3 Pro off to prevent shortcuts and wrong contacts.

3. Configure the TBS Crossfire nano RX :

Now turn on the RS3 Pro. The TBS Crossfire nano RX should be making a slow green blink that means it is in bind mode. If the light is other than a blinking green, take a fin tool and press the bind button on the RX. We recommend using a 1.5mm to 2.5mm hex driver and not using a pair of tweezers in order to preserve your bind button.

Go to your TBS agent, bind to the RX and update the firmware if needed.

In the TBS agent go to XF Nano RX V3>General and set the Mode to 12ch

In the TBS agent go to XF Nano RX V3>Output map and set Output 1 to SBUS and Output 2 to your desired channel where you want to trigger the servo. This channel must be assigned to the switch you want for the lock/unlock of the gimbal. In our exemple it will be the Channel 9 corresponding to the Switch F of the TBS mambo.

We strongly advise to choose a momentary switch for the lock/unlock function as the system only needs a single short press.

By factory the TBS nano RX is set with this configuration

Change it like so :

As soon as you change the channel, you will be able to see the servo moving when triggering the switch you assigned.

4. Set min/max of the servo :

Place the switch you assigned for the lock/unlock into its standby mode.

Take the one sided servo horn and the M2.5x3.5mm Phillips Head cylindrical screw and assemble them to the servo in a place near the TBS immortal T antenna as in the following picture.

The servo horn will keep this position in standby.

Go into your Outputs tab in your radio controller. In the TBS Radios its page 5/11

Go to the channel assigned to the lock/unlock switch. click on edit and scroll down to Max.

In order to preserve your servo and your RS3 Pro power button we strongly advise you to set your Max value to 0. We don’t want your servo to press at maximum strength to the power button of the RS3 Pro.

Turn on your switch which triggers the servo. It should be close to the RS3 Pro power button but not touching it.

Increase the max value of the channel in order to get a gentle but 100% accurate press on the power button.

In our case the correct value for a gentle press but with 100% success rate was 34.0

Set your Mixer with the following settings in order to control the ronin with your radio’s gimbal.

CH1 →  PAN / CH2 →  TILT / CH4 → ROLL (CH5 → Rec/Stop)

5. Recenter hacks:

  • - Kacper Spławiński hack :

  • Here is how to set it up:

  • Assign some momentary switch on your radio to channel 7. This will allow you to switch the gimbal modes between 1 and 3 by using this switch.

  • Once you’re able to switch the gimbal modes between 1 and 3 by momentary switch. Open up the Ronin mobile app and assign: MODE 1 - the one which you normally use to control the gimbal MODE 3 - 3D Roll 360

Now when you press the momentary switch your gimbal should go to 3D Roll 360 mode.

  • - Magfly FPV hack :

  • On the PCB we especially let space for some hack in order to get recenter following the Magfly method. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=577614944365058&set=pcb.1009703673766186
